Chronic subdural hematoma (CSDH)

Chronic subdural hematoma is a slow buildup of clotted blood beneath the coverings of the brain. This clotted blood presses against your brain. When we say you have a "chronic" subdural hematoma, it means the blood has been there for several weeks and is liquid in consistency. It is usually seen in the elderly following a trivial bump on their head few weeks or months ago. A completely treatable condition irrespective of the age, burr hole evacuation provides excellent results.


Symptoms

  • Headache

  • Weakness of one side of the body

  • Seizures
