Acute subdural hematoma (ASDH) is a buildup of clotted blood beneath the dura. The most common mechanism is a road traffic accident or a fall which causes rupture of a vein or artery. The blood can press harmfully against your brain causing an increase in pressure resulting in secondary brain injury. Its important to be urgently evaluated and appropriately treated.
